Spring Break Professional Development Day - Wednesday April 10
Professional Support Staff Development Day is April 10th – all are welcome to attend the presentations in SS214 from 9 a.m. - 11:45 a.m., and for a lunch potluck in the N/S Lounge from 12:15 - 2 p.m. April 10 is also a payroll day. Since the Business Office will be closed to make it possible for staff to attend the sessions, all payroll checks will be mailed. Employees will not be able to pick up their checks on this payroll, but we will return to the normal process going forward. Thanks for your support!
Congratulations NIck Vasallo!
Congratulations to music instructor Nick Vassallo, who has accepted a tenure-track position in music at CalPoly Pomona. On Tuesday April 9th there will be a world premiere of his new work Only One Survives performed by members of the Kronos String Quartet and San Francisco Symphony.
April Employee of the Month - Pablo Balancio
"No matter when Pablo gets a call for assistance, whether it is to help an instructor with the AV equipment or something else, Pablo is there within minutes. He is always willing to help and is very professional and knowledgeable." Pablo will be recognized at the April meeting of the Board of Trustees on April 9.

Veterans Expo - Thursday April 18, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Student Center
The expo will feature Education resources, Health and Wellness resources,Military friendly employers and Gavilan College career technical education information. Student veterans, veterans planning to attend college,their families and friends are encouraged to attend. The public is welcome.

Child Development Center Book Fair - April 15 - 20th
Come join the CDC from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day and check out the books. They are geared for preschool age children. Books will be available in both English and Spanish. The Center will earn credit towards books for the children.
Child Development Center Trike-A-Thon, Friday, April 19
The Child Development Center will be hosting our 12th year to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital during Week of the Young Child. The CDC has raised $12,046.91 since 2002. The children and staff will be collecting donations to support the Hospital. All donations go to the hospital. The children will ride the trikes in the center during this event. If you are interested in helping us support the Hospital you can either email Susan at email@example.com to let me know, you can call the center 408-848-4815, drop off a payment in the CDC mailbox or even go onlilne to the CDC website and donate there directly to support the center.
Child Development Center Open House/Spring Carnival - Struday April 20, 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
This event is free except a fee for some of the food. There will be: Games such as cake walk, apple grab, fishing, ring toss; Crafts such as necklaces, puppets; Book Fair, Face painting, Animal balloons, Popcorn, Hotdogs, snow cones, drinks, nachos, fun jump. The event is open to Gavilan students and the community.
