Student RAMbassador Program
Student RAMbassadors provide enthusiastic support to the college and its students through assistance during the registration process by presenting general information, directions and referrals to all new and continuing students during pre-registration and through outreach efforts throughout each semester. The RAMbassadors is designed to assist the Outreach and recruitment Coordinator by representing the campus and the college in outreach programs, community and campus-wide special events throughout the academic year.
Overview of job duties
Rambassadors will learn about peer mentoring and support, leadership, and helping new students feel connected to the Gavilan community. The student RAMbassadors will go through training of the college process, such as admissions, financial aid, registration, campus tours and Gavilan College’s programs and services.
Duties will include visiting high schools, participating in community events, and working with the college career centers at our local high schools.
Events and Activities
Utilizing their mentoring and leadership skills, RAMbassadors will engage newly-enrolled students to help educate them about resources in order to be successful and feel connected to campus life. They will assist with on-campus events such as, Science Alive, Transfer Day and Graduation.
The RAMbassadors will assist the Coordinator on following up with applications turned in by potential students. They will also help maintain the outreach database.
