About the Community Oral History Project

This site acts as an archive for the collection of local oral history–the stories of real people talking about their lives in a way that paints a rich and detailed history of the area.

The archives can be organized by broad themes–agriculture, labor, immigration, etc.. It can also be searched by keywords and tags–words identified by the authors as representing important ideas in the oral history.

Options for Locating Oral Histories:

1. Choose a category from the right hand column. All oral histories identified under that category will be displayed chronologically from date posted.

2. Choose a tag from the right hand column. All oral histories labelled with that tag will be displayed chronologically from date posted.

3. Click on “ORAL HISTORIES” at top of page. All oral histories will be displayed chronologically from date posted.

4. Use the search box at the top of the right-hand column to Search by a key word. All oral histories containing that search term will be displayed.
