Internet Assignment #3a

In this assignment, you will be assessing your risk for several types of cancer by using the self-evaluation questionnaires hosted by the Siteman Cancer Center . These questionnaires estimate your risk of cancer and provide tips for prevention.
To get started select What's your cancer risk from the table in the center of the screen.
Along the right side of the screen, you'll see a list of cancer types that have risk assessment questionnaires. For each of the cancer types listed below, complete the questionnaire describing your diet, hereditary, and medical history, and then record your results. When you choose a cancer type, you'll notice options listed. Click on the Fact Sheet option to find more information about this particular type of cancer, and answer the additional questions for each cancer type.

Breast Cancer Note: Men may answer using a significant woman's data. What is your risk assessment?     List the 2 main types of breast cancers:     State the number of men affected by breast cancer each year.     How does the incidence of breast cancer in women compare with the incidence of prostate cancer in men?     List 3 ways a woman can lower her risk of getting breast cancer:

Prostate Cancer Note: Women may answer using a significant man's data. What is your risk assessment?     State the ethnic group with the lowest risk for prostate cancer:     Which food group has a promoting effect on prostate cancer?     What food is recommended to lower a man's risk of getting prostate cancer?     Name the blood test used to screen for prostate cancer.

Lung Cancer What is your risk assessment?     State the relationship between lung cancers and smoking (in percentages).     List 3 ways to modify a person's risk of getting lung cancer.

Colon Cancer What is your risk assessment?     In terms of incidence, how does colon cancer rank for both men and women?     Is daily aspirin thought to be protective or harmful as a cancer risk factor?     Go to the risk list for colon cancer and state the relationship between height and colon cancer.     List the 4 screening tests recommended for colon cancer.
