Library Services and Support Message
Message to Students about Library Services and Support
The library is only open virtually until further notice.
If you need assistance with research or other resources, librarians are on duty during the fall semester as follows:
Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Librarians can be reached using our Ask A Librarian chat box. You can find the chat box on the library homepage and contact us pages. If you find yourself struggling with iLearn or some other technology, if you need some coaching or guidance, please contact us. During open hours, you can also send a text instead of a chat. Here is the text number:
- Text: 408-872-9275
The reference e-mail is monitored regularly, too. You can leave a question or request at reference@gavilan.edu.
Book Returns:
If you borrowed a book or other resource from the library and have not yet returned it, please contact us by e-mail at reference@gavilan.edu. Gavilan schedules regular times to return materials, and we can make sure you know when the next opportunity comes up. Students are not being assessed fines for overdue materials that are still out. However, if you have not returned materials, transcripts and other records may be held until you return those items or pay for them.
