Lanetta Bishop Interview

Abstract:

Lanetta Bishop’s relatives arrived in the area after the Gold Rush. She was raised by her grandparents in Hollister, and attended Gavilan College in the early 1950s. She had an active social life and majored in home economics, but left after a year to marry. Bishop helped with the local Girl Schouts troop for years, then raised a family in Hollister. She began working in the Hollister schools as a migrant education aide, and then worked at Sunnyslope School, where she stayed for 28 years as an administrative assistant.
