Expected Family Contribution
Your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is determined by law, using the information that you submit on your FAFSA. It is the amount a student (and parents, if dependent) is expected to pay towards the cost of attending college.

Below is a standard budget which reflects the Cost of Attendance at Gavilan College. While expenses such as your enrollment fees, student rep fee, student identification card, and parking permit are fixed expenses, your actual expenses will vary depending on your living arrangements, personal and miscellaneous expenses, mode of transportation, etc.

Some students have additional expenses related to pursuing a degree at Gavilan College such as childcare, tools, uniforms, a personal computer, supplies, or equipment. If you have additional expenses not reflected in this Student Expense Budget, we recommend that you submit documentation of these expenses to the Financial Aid Office so that we may increase your budget to reflect these expenses as appropriate.
