Pick up your diploma!
For students who did not attend Graduation, you may pick up your diploma between September 13 and September 29. After that date, we will mail the diplomas to the address we have on file.
Q: When will diplomas be available for students?
A: Diplomas will be available starting September 13, 2017.
Q: How will students get their diplomas?
A: Students who DID attend Graduation in May will receive their diplomas in the mail.
Students who did NOT attend Graduation in May, will be able to come and pick up their diploma, and diploma cover, in person, at the front counter, until the end of September. After that, the diplomas and diploma covers will be mailed to the address on file for each student.
Q: What if the student did NOT go to graduation, and is now away at school and will not be able to come and pick it up?
A: Student can send an email, using his/her Gavilan email address to email@example.com, requesting that we mail the diploma. The student should include his/her Gavilan ID number in the body of the email. Upon receipt of the request, we will ship out the diploma and cover within 2 business days.
Q: Can the student have a parent/sibling/significant other pick up the diploma?
A: If the student fills out the Release of Information form, and indicates in the “OTHER” field the word “Diploma” and submits to us via his/her Gavilan email or sends USPS, we will release the diploma/cover to the designee. We will require a photo ID of the designee before releasing the diploma/cover. The designee cannot bring in the filled out form. We MUST receive the release form directly from the student via email (Gavilan email address), mail or fax so we can prepare the pick up package.
Q: Where can the student pick up the diploma?
A: At the A&R front counter, located on the Financial Aid side of the Student Admin Building.
Q: What are the hours that a student can pick up the diploma?
A: Admissions & Records normal hours are
8:00am – 5:00pm Monday thru Thursday, and
10:00am – 2:00pm on Fridays.
We will accommodate requests for after-hours diploma pickup when possible.
