The ESL Department offers a wide range of courses in the Survival and the Academic Tracks as well as beginning VESL (Vocational ESL) noncredit courses. Our Academic Track has courses from beginning to advanced levels, and each helps students develop their English language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and vocabulary, grammar, and writing.
To determine the most appropriate level, all students are assessed prior to enrolling in classes. Although most students enroll in the three courses at each level, they can take fewer courses depending on their time availability. Students are encouraged to use their English outside of class and visit the different ESL support services to get extra language practice. See Course Offerings for a general description of classes and Schedule of Classes for classes offered this semester. Check our ESL Computer Lab schedule for the current semester.
