Infant/Toddler Program

Philosophy

The Infant/Toddler program incorporates the program for Infant/Toddler Caregivers (PITC). The philosophy of Magda Gerber (Respect for the infant/toddler) is utilized. The PITC philosophy focuses on meeting the fundamental needs of infants from birth to 3 years in group-care settings through:

  1. close, caring relationships;
  2. environments that promote infants' health, safety, and learning;
  3. connection to family and culture; and
  4. knowledgeable, responsive caregivers.

The themes of respect, relationships and responsive care thread through all of the recommendations and strategies the PITC offers to caregivers.

The Infant/Toddler Program is open to the community and operates year-round except holidays and two staff development days. The program is full day/full time only.
