The following two associate's degrees require a combination of core courses and additional requirements:
Completion of the core courses and the additional requirements in a selected area (below) will qualify students for an A.A. degree in Media Arts.
CORE COURSES:

Media Arts A.A. Degree Video Arts/Technical Production Option
Program Learning Outcomes: After completing this degree a student will be able to:
- demonstrate knowledge and skills related to pre-production, production and post-production for a studio or field production in television broadcast.
- participate in a live television broadcast and perform a minimum of three essential roles during the broadcast in the control room or on the studio floor.
The VideoArts/Technical Production option prepares students for four-year studies in media arts, communications, film and television studies.

Media Arts A.A. Degree Print/Cyberprint Option
Program Learning Outcomes: After completing this degree a student will be able to:
- plan, formulate and compose news stories, requiring them to restate facts, describe people and conditions and explain and report on current events as well as describe and translate constitutionally guaranteed freedom of speech into practical language and define libel and best ethical journalistic practices, differentiating between standard and sub-standard ethics.
- define and apply standard journalistic practices and work with each other to appraise and revise each other's stories as well as interpret current events, campus organizational structures and human beings to demonstrate a common understanding of news values, choosing and selecting interesting stories to cover.
Students who choose the Print/Cyberprint option prepare for transfer to four-year institutions in journalism, communications and technical writing.
