If your long-term goal is a professional career or university degree, Gavilan College has guaranteed transfer agreements with many of the leading universities in the state. Students who qualify for the Transfer Institute can complete their lower division work and transfer in only two years. Students who wish to improve college reading and study skills can participate in Puente, where they will have the opportunity to work with a community mentor. MESA keeps students in connected in math and science programs, and TRIO is a resource for first-generation college students.

Gavilan College also has respected vocational programs to help you find a satisfying career. Graduates are in demand from Gavilan College's programs in nursing and health occupations, law enforcement, child development, computer science, digital media, cosmetology, and aviation maintenance.
