|4)||Review FY 12/13 Tentative Budget, Exhibit 2|
Susan Cheu referred to the tentative budget for FY 12/13, Exhibit 2. Susan reviewed prior year revenues and expenses compared to the tentative budget. There was a general discussion concerning the timing and the short and long term implications of the state budget and its impact on Gavilan. The Budget Committee approved the tentative budget as presented. Joe explained that the same presentation was made to the College Budget Committee and Presidentís Council.

Joe reviewed the Budget Planning Calendar for FY 12/13 and noted that there is a May revise which compares, among other things, current tax receipts at the state level. Even with that information, however, Joe pointed out that most of the focus for the FY 12/13 state budget is on the November election results. Joe noted that the Board Budget Committee may meet in August to review the Final Budget prior to submitting it to the full Board of Trustees in September.
Susan reviewed the stateís process of deferring apportionment cash which is creating a cash flow problem at the district level.
