AH 170 Basic Clinical Medical Assisting

Units 6  Hours: 4 Lecture, 6 Laboratory

Prerequisites: Eligible for English 250, English 260 and Mathematics 205

Transferable: CSU

Course provides a basic introduction to clinical medical assisting. Emphasizes principles, understanding of skills necessary to perform basic clinical medical assisting procedures safely and effectively.

AH 171 Advanced Clinical Medical Assisting

Units 6  Hours: 4 Lecture, 6 Laboratory

Prerequisite: AH 170 with a grade of C or better or equivalent. Equivalency determined by written and performance exams

Transferable: CSU

Course provides instruction and clinical experience in advanced concepts of clinical

medical assisting including specialty procedures and treatments.

Completion of these two courses will qualify the student to enter an internship for clinical medical assisting

 

 

Students may choose to take these courses for Gavilan College credit or through the Regional Occupational Program
