*Eligible Continuing students during Registration Priority 1, 2, or 3 must be in good academic standing and have less than 100 earned units total excluding 30 units basic skills or ESL classes.
Students on probation for 2 consecutive semesters or on academic dismissal may enroll during Priority 5.
New to college students for Summer or Fall 2016, and who are eligible for Registration Priority 1, 2 or 3 must have successfully completed an assessment, education plan and orientation (including GUID 210, GUID 6 or KIN 1) to be eligible for priority registration. Those who have not completed the components may enroll during Priority 4 registration starting May 16.

Visit the Welcome Center, located in the same Student Center building as Admissions & Records. For help with admission applications, financial aid paperwork, registration, finding your classrooms and much, much more, visit the Welcome Center.
High School students can obtain add codes for closed classes.
Gavilan counselor signature is no longer required on contracts.
Copy of high school transcript not required.
Minimum GPA 2.0 not required, but must be in good standing ( verified by the high school).
Assessment test is not required for high school students enrolling in classes that do not have a prerequisite, but do for courses that require initial placement (math, English, ESL).
Signature of high school principal AND high school counselor is required. Approval from high school is required by State law, and to ensure that the Gavilan course will satisfy high school requirements.
NOTE: Home schooled students must provide copy of R4 Affidavit at time of registration if not attending a homeschool program supported through a local school district.
Students are expected to pay in full at the time of registration unless they have been approved by the Financial Aid Office to defer payment. Students who receive the BOG fee waiver are expected to pay the amount that the BOG fee waiver does not cover ranging from $7.00 to $31.00 depending on BOG eligibility.
Students may qualify for an exemption from the new student steps* if they have:
1. Completed an Associate degree or higher.
2. Plan to enroll in courses solely to maintain industry or licensure requirements.
3. Plan to enroll in classes for a reason OTHER than career development or advancement, transfer, attainment of a degree or certificate of achievement, or completion of a basic skills course sequence.
4. Special admit (concurrently enrolled high school student).
NOTE: Students who are exempt from completing the new student steps may not be eligible for priority registration.
