LIB735: RESEARCH BASICS
Students jump-start their research skills with this introductory course and learn to supplement their basic course readings with the library's extensive array of materials, including electronic books, print materials, audio books, and specialized magazine databases. Students save time, develop information literacy, and locate and use quality information to deepen and extend their learning.
- Students will navigate the Gavilan Library website and the Internet to locate information on a research topic.
- Students will conduct basic searches for books, e-books, databases and Internet resources
- Students will analyze and evaluate resources and determine the credibility of the information.
- Students will demonstrate respect for the legal and ethical use of information, resources and technology through basic citation of sources and discussion group participation.
