JFT215: FIRE SUPERVISOR ACADEMY
This is an 80 hour management program designed to teach supervision and management skills to current first line officers in the fire service. Candidates are chosen from amongst eligible supervisors by department administrators. This is a pass/no pass course. PREREQUISITE: Employment with a Fire Department as a full time first line officer. ADVISORY: Eligible for English 250 and English 420.
- Identify the first-line supervisor's role from several perspectives and use leadership frameworks from course.
- compare and contrast personal and organizational values are the supervisor's role in infulencing individual behavior through ethical decision making.
- describe the difference between civil and crimianl accountablilty, and identify the complex issues and the supervisor's role in the disciplinary process.
- identify the principles and elements of harassment and discrimination in the workplace.
