Kendall’s pedagogy philosophy is to utilize multiple mediums of learning in every class session. By learning in different formats, from a multitude of sources, and from one another, a well-rounded learning experience will help students to grow both inside and outside of the classroom. Kendall believes in shared learning experiences, and pulling from life experience to enrich classroom material. Kendall is passionate about issues of environmentalism and social justice. Her goal is to assist students in empowering themselves to be proactive citizens in society. Through a look at communication theory, students can enrich their own lives and realize their own power to inspire others.

- M.A. in Speech Communication with Emphasis in Environmental Rhetoric, SJSU
- Certified in Conflict Mediation, Ventura County Dispute Settlement Center
Kendall grew up in Santa Cruz, California, and attended Aptos High School. From there, Kendall completed her Associate’s degree at Cabrillo Community College, and transferred to CSU Channel Islands. During her time at CSU Channel Islands Kendall assisted in multiple research projects on the Channel Islands, in the Los Padres National Forest, Santa Monica Mountains, and Yosemite National Park. Her research focused strongly on environmental action throughout her undergraduate career. Kendall then continued to San Jose State University to complete her Masters. At San Jose State Kendall’s research and focus began to connect issues of social justice with environmental degradation. Specifically uniting the campaigns of immigration to environmentalism. Kendall has utilized her research background to assist her in the instruction of many courses including Public Speaking, Critical Decision Making, Communication Writing, and the Fundamentals of Communication.
